Institute of Global Responsibility (IGO) is an independent non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Warsaw, Poland. It was established in 2007 and since that time has been focusing on development policy issues, development education and cooperation with partners in the South.
The work of IGO is based on a carefully created mission statement that reflects our values and explains why it is necessary to work hard to achieve our strategic goals. In this article you can learn more about our mission and what we actually mean by global responsibility. This understanding is a common ground for all our activities and our approaches to specific issues and challenges in development cooperation.
From its very beginning in 2007, IGO applied the rules of Total Participation Management (TPM) as a philosophical as well as a practical approach to institutional learning and development. All our statutory bodies and procedures are aligned to national and European regulations but when it comes to organisational culture there are also significant differences in comparison with traditional management approaches.
